Members of the public have the legal right to copies of excerpts of recordings that feature them.
In the event that an individual request access to a re-cording they must fill out a form included in the pack. The recordings of the individual are then downloaded to a red and a black disc. If no recognisable images of other individuals are present the red disc can then be given to the applicant and the black copy is held on site. If recognisable images of third parties are present the images must be masked before the red disc is handed over. For masking the disc can be sent to VMS who provide an editing service. The edited copy is then forwarded to the applicant.
